Always planning his next big idea, Jason Nevins is equally comfortable in the studio, working with an artist or in a marketing meeting. For 3 decades, this music industry leader has consistently been creating and evolving, taking his music as well as artists he works with to new plateaus.

From his multi-platinum, 5-million selling “Its Like That” with iconic rap legends Run-DMC to his 3.5 million selling multi-platinum, American Music Award winning production of “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line & Nelly to his original International hit – “I’m In Heaven” with Holly James, Nevins knows the right sound from the radio to the club.

HISTORY & HIGHLIGHTS

Nevins began releasing records in th 90’s under various monikers through every big underground dance label, but achieved global recognition in 1998 with his production of “Its Like That” which was released under the title ‘Run–DMC vs. Jason Nevins‘, reaching #1 on the Pop chart in over 34 countries, with close to 5 million worldwide sales. The record began its global boom from a 10” limited edition vinyl which started in the clubs in Italy. Sales exceeded 1 million copies in both Germany and the UK. In the UK, the single also halted the Spice Girls run of six consecutive number ones with their first six singles, holding the Spice Girls’ seventh release, “Stop” at the number 2 position on the charts.

In 1998, Nevins won an RTL television #1 single award for the Top Of The Pops. The same year he also won a VIVA Comet Award for the #1 Dance Act.
Nevins followed up “It’s Like That” with a string of Hip House remixes and productions, with Run–D.M.C.‘s “Its Tricky”, his own original version of 2 Live Crew’s “We Want Some Puxxy”, Insane Clown Posse’s “Hokus Pokus”, Cypress Hill’s “Insane In The Brain”; all featuring on his 1999 Sony album : Uni-Vs-Al.

In 2001, he pioneered the “dance-rock sound” by fusing big beat drums, guitars and rock influences to his remixes and productions, working on tracks for artists as varied as N.E.R.D., Duran Duran, Kelly Clarkson and more. Nevins has also revisited producing his own work, with a release on the UK based Sanctuary Records, entitled “The Funk Rocker”.

In October 2004, Nevins again reached Top 5 airplay in Europe under his pseudonym – UKNY, with his own original song “I’m In Heaven”, featuring vocals by Holly James. “Im In Heaven” went to # 9 in the UK Pop chart. Also off the Sanctuary album,”I’m the Main Man”, which featured samples from T-Rex’s Marc Bolan. “Im The Main Man”, which was crafted the week following his signing to BMG Music Publishing, landed Nevins and the Bolan estate a lucrative Coors Light Beer ad throughout the UK & Ireland. Coors launched the massive ad campaign using Nevins’ track as the featured music for their commercial and campaign.

In 2007, Nevins collaborated with Dannii Minogue, sister of global sensation Kylie Minogue, on “Touch Me Like That”, written by Nevins and featuring portions from Sylvester’s 70’s mega-hit “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)” with a video being shot with Nevins and Minogue at the legendary Pinewood Studios in London, famously known for the James Bond film franchise.

Over the years, Nevins has had numerous songs, productions and remixes of his used in feature films, tv shows, tv trailers, video games, film trailers, tv ads and more. Jason has had 65 Billboard Top 10 remixes and productions.

In 2012, Nevins produced and co-wrote “I Believe in This Life” with Marius Moga (Maroon 5) and Greg Holden (“Home” Phillip Phillips)—a U.S. single for Jermaine Paul, the winner of the 2nd season of the massively popular TV show The Voice on NBC. The song was used in a commercial for the Samsung Galaxy and their “Next Big Thing” campaign also featuring Country icon and Voice Coach- Blake Shelton.

In 2013, Nevins produced the Pop version for Florida Georgia Line’s hit single “Cruise” featuring singer/rapper Nelly. It was Nevins sole idea of adding Nelly to the record – pitching it to Monte Lipman, President of Republic Records – which also helped propel it to the top of the charts. The song peaked at #2 on iTunes and at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has amassed over 3 million in sales. As of 2021, the official video on YouTube has 128 million views.

In 2013, Nevins along with Florida Georgia Line and Nelly won the award for Song of the Year at the American Music Award for his production of “Cruise” featuring Nelly.

Also in 2013, Nevins produced the main album version of Ariana Grande and Mika’s “Popular Song”. Nevins production was certified Gold in the US by the RIAA with over 500,0000 copies. As of 2021, the official YouTube video has reached over 200 million views.

In 2014, Nevins, along with Florida Georgia Line and Nelly were nominated for Vocal Event of the Year at the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards.

On November 10, 2016, again the Nevins’ & Nelly combination hit the jackpot. Nevins remix of Nelly & Justin Timberlakes “Work It” was played at the Golden State Warriors basketball game and became part of the viral sensation video clip of the now famous “Dancing Mom” Robin Schreiber dancing in the stands. The mega-viral video has achieved 130 million views.
